JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Merrill Road sewer pump station improvement project is underway, and it is expected to bring temporary lane closures through August.
Starting in June, crews will work to replace the sewer main across Merrill Road required for the new pump station, and two lanes of traffic will be temporarily closed as crews install piping across the road, according to JEA.

Construction will begin by first closing the eastbound lanes and detouring traffic through the westbound lanes. Once work on that section is complete, the closure and detour will shift to the westbound lanes.
Apart from the lane closures, JEA said residents and businesses may notice increased construction traffic and materials at the pump station site, and there will be some noise associated with this construction.
“We appreciate your patience during this important infrastructure improvement project and apologize for any delays or inconvenience caused by this work,” JEA wrote on its website.
