The local players were part of 18 selections on both the men’s and women’s sides who will try and earn one of the final 12 roster spots that will be determined after training camp in Charlotte (May 15-18). The players who aren’t selected for the 12-person roster will be alternates.

Both teams will compete in the IFAF Americas Continental Championship later this year. The women’s team will also take part in the World Games this year in Chengdu, China.

Davis, a 2012 Sandalwood graduate, starred in both football and track and field in high school before focusing on track in college at Mississippi Valley State. He won Southwestern Athletic Conference titles in the 200- and 400-meter dashes on the indoor circuit and the 400 outdoor title in 2019.

He broke in with flag football after college and has become one of the top players in the country. He was on teams that won gold at the World Games in 2022 and the IFAF Americas Continental Championship in 2023 and 2024.

Jenkins was a multisport star with the Golden Eagles, but her first love was basketball. It took some convincing from friend and teammate Mykayla Maddox to give flag a try. She was dominant in her junior and senior seasons for Fleming Island, earning All-News4JAX honors both years. She was the area’s top player in 2024.

Kennedy graduated from Blanche Ely in Pompano Beach and played football at Warner University.
