JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The first day of spring football practice brought an unwelcome sight at Parker.

When head coach Mike Holloway showed up Monday morning, nothing looked like how he and Parker coaches had left it.

Locks on the fieldhouse doors were busted and pried open. A door was knocked off its hinges. And when Holloway went inside, the place was ransacked.

Helmets were gone. Jerseys were taken. Thieves had rummaged through the football and softball offices and taken anything of value.

They even snatched deflated footballs and a blocking sled.

“I noticed all the doors and stuff, then the first thing I noticed missing, all the cleats the Jaguars donated to us last summer. All those are gone. They took every last pair,” Holloway said. “Missing at least 25 helmets. Looks like they just grabbed stuff, even in the training room, a lot of tape is missing. Headsets we call the game with are gone.”

Holloway said that the team’s brand-new 85-inch LG CreateBoard television set, along with another 55-inch TV, were also taken.

In videos posted on social media, Holloway showed the damage to the fieldhouse.

Holloway said that the coaching staff will be tasked with putting together a list of everything that’s missing before a total of the estimated loss can be tallied.

“We still got to practice. Some of the coaches had some footballs, so we still got it in, but it’s just frustrating, man,” Holloway said.
